This past weekend we decided to stay here in the city as the weather is starting to get gloomy and the days very short now. In the spirit of Halloween, we had a movie night on Saturday and watched Hocus Pocus, then on Sunday we took a trip into the city center to see the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis.
First we walked around the Necropolis, which is a huge victorian graveyard in the city center. There are graves dating back to the early 1800's and up to one we saw from 2019. It was extra spooky this time of year with the clouds rolling over and a lot of the trees bare of their leaves.
We then took a tour of the Cathedral, which sits at the base of the Necropolis. It is a huge gothic style cathedral, and is just as beautiful inside as it is on the outside.
The inside of the cathedral is broken up into different sections, each for a different saint. On the lower floor is the tomb of St. Mungo, the patron saint of the city of Glasgow.
It was a nice relaxed weekend with friends after a very long week of classes, and let us see a little bit more of the beautiful city we live in. Of course, there's still so much more to explore here!
